Prompt

Act as an on-page SEO specialist focused on improving organic click-through rate for pages that already have visibility.

Context:
- Brand and site type: {{brand}}
- Search Console data per page (URL, current title, main query, impressions, clicks, CTR and average position): {{pages_data}}
- Titles competitors show for those queries: {{competitor_titles}}
- Brand rule for titles: {{brand_position}}

Deliverables:
1. Prioritization: rank the pages by opportunity (high impressions, position 1-10, CTR below what you would expect for that position) and explain the criteria.
2. Diagnosis of each current title: mismatched intent, truncated, generic, indistinguishable from competitors, repeats the brand or competes with another page on the site.
3. For each page, three title alternatives of 50-60 characters with different approaches (benefit, specificity, format or concrete fact, a year only if the content is genuinely updated), leading with the main query when it reads naturally.
4. A final recommendation per page and why.
5. Consistency check: the title, H1 and content must tell the same story, because Google may rewrite titles that do not reflect the page.
6. Measurement plan: change in batches, note the date, compare 4 weeks before and after at similar positions.

Constraints:
- Do not promise what the page does not offer (prices, discounts, "free", "official"). If a real fact is missing, write [FILL IN].
- No all caps, emojis or clickbait.
- Apply the {{brand_position}} rule to every title.
- If the data does not explain why a page underperforms, tell me what else to export.

Format: a priority table, then one table per page with current title, diagnosis, three alternatives with character counts and the recommendation.

How to use it

In Search Console, open Performance, switch to Pages, enable impressions, clicks, CTR and position, and export the last 3 months. Paste the 10-30 URLs with the most impressions. Change titles in batches and note the date so you can measure.

Usage example

Brand: Easy Kitchen recipe blog · Page: /lentil-soup · 18,000 impressions, 1.2% CTR, position 4.3 · Current title: "Lentil Soup - Easy Kitchen".

Frequently asked questions

What CTR is normal for each position?

It varies widely by query and by what the results page shows (ads, maps, snippets). Compare against your own pages at similar positions rather than generic averages.

Why does Google rewrite my titles?

It does so when it thinks a title does not describe the page well: too long, stuffed with keywords or different from the content. Aligning title, H1 and content reduces rewrites.
